Author Jeffrey Royer lives on the gulf coast of Florida. His debut novel, The Mercy Project, is a fast paced thriller about a top secret government project to euthanize the elderly in an effort to abate healthcare costs. His second novel, Secluded, is a dark suspenseful tale of a young couple looking to escape to the country from busy city life for peace and quiet and instead encounter their worst nightmare. He is currently working on the sequel to The Mercy Project titled Beyond Mercy.
Royer’s debut novel is a fast-paced, exciting read, with evil government agents, hired assassins and college students, all of whom are fleshed out and complex, which makes the story feel weightier than many thrillers. Royer, a strong writer, tackles good and evil, greed, family and other issues in a well-plotted story that’s surprisingly realistic. He has a knack for dialogue, which helps propel the story forward, and he quickly pulls the reader into the fast pace that doesn’t abate until the end.

Jeffrey Royer's "The Mercy Project" is a well-planned, suspenseful, political thriller that doesn't cut corners on detail. Amidst today's political woes and economic crisis in our nation, Royer weaves an eerily plausible conspiracy that chills to the core. It is refreshing when a work of fiction can not only entertain, but leave you with a moral. Jeffrey Royer proves he will be around for quite a while with the quality of this witty, yet no-nonsense debut novel. Read "The Mercy Project" and be careful who you vote for.

I picked up this book because I am a fan of political thrillers, and I'm happy to say that this novel does not disappoint! Jeffrey Royer quickly pulls the reader in, and I found myself on the edge
of my seat for much of the story. There are many plot twists and turns, with realistic scenarios and witty dialogue.
This book would appeal to most who enjoy a good thriller, but I found it especially relevant given the climate of today's healthcare reform debate. Without giving away too much of the plot, it's
scary to think about what our own government might be capable of. I am an avid reader of fiction, and I would compare Royer's writing style to some of the best, including John Grisham, James
Patterson and Tom Clancy. You won't want to put this book down!

This Author instantly became my new favorite! The Mercy Project kept me on the edge of my seat. I literally couldn't put it down, and I was at Disney World!!
It's frightening how this scenario could actually be happening. Fast paced like The Firm, it will not disappoint. Can't wait for movie, can't wait for Royer's next book.
